Housing Authority of the County of Monterey

The Housing Authority of the County of Monterey (HACM) is a public agency that provides rental assistance and develops and manages affordable housing throughout Monterey County, California.

Programs

1) Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8)

  • Provides assistance for very low-income households (single or family), the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market

2) Family Self-Sufficiency Program

Legal Services of Northern California

LSNC is a federal, state and local-funded legal services program providing civil representation to low-income clients in 23 counties in Northern California. 

Housing priorities address: Assisting clients with the creation and preservation of low-income housing, tenants rights, evictions and lock outs, foreclosures, quality of housing, mobile homes, mitigation of homelessness, termination of utilities, unsafe housing, and lost of shelter because of natural disasters.

LifeMoves

The LifeMoves mission is to provide interim housing and supportive services for homeless families and individuals to rapidly return to stable housing and achieve long-term self-sufficiency. 

LifeMoves provides safe and clean living spaces, nutritious food, counseling and mental health supportive services, therapeutic childcare and after-school activities, and job and housing search assistance to our clients.

LifeMoves operates 17 facilities from Daly City to San Jose that serve either families or single adults, including the following:

West Marin Community Services

We are a non-profit that provides emergency funds and supportive care to people in crisis or who have special needs and are unable to find assistance through any other means. We organize a variety of community events and programs for low-income families and individuals. We offer several resources:
 
1) An emergency food pantry
2) Rental assistance programs 
3) Utility assistance 
4) Information and referrals to other agencies
5) A job and housing referral board
