Our Housing Program provides free legal advice and representation on housing-related matters to low-income individuals in Santa Clara County.

We can assist with:

• Defending eviction lawsuits

• Housing discrimination issues like reasonable accommodation requests for individuals with disabilities

• Enforcing the San Jose Tenant Protection Ordinance

• Legal Outreach and Support for renter organizing/campaigns

• Help with Housing Authority hearings

Legal Aid Society of San Diego

The Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc. (LASSD) is a nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services to lower income San Diego residents.

Eviction Clinic for San Diego County Courts

Public Law Center (PLC)

Through volunteers and staff, PLC provides free civil legal services, including counseling, individual representation, community education, and strategic litigation and advocacy to challenge societal injustices.

PLC works to preserve and create affordable housing in Orange County, prevent homelessness, and assist tenants who are being unfairly evicted or who are subjected to sub-standard living conditions. PLC can assist with:

Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA)

Neighborhood Legal Services believes access to safe, affordable housing is essential to the health of individuals, families, and communities.
 
The organization works to preserve affordable housing and rent control, prevent unlawful evictions and foreclosures, and fight discrimination in Section 8 and other government-subsidized housing. Attorneys provide a range of services, from advice and counsel to individual representation and high-impact litigation.
 
Services are available to qualifying residents of all LA County.

Legal Services of Northern California - Sacramento

Since 1956, Legal Services of Northern California has provided quality legal services that empower the poor to identify and defeat the causes and effects of poverty. LSNC’s service priorities include the preservation of housing; health care; enhancing economic stability; support for families, family safety, and stability; civil rights; education; and serving populations with special vulnerabilities.

Fair Housing Council of Riverside County, Inc.

The Fair Housing Council of Riverside County, Inc. (FHCRC) offers services to both landlords and tenants in an effort to resolve disputes arising from the individual’s tenancy. FHCRC receives complaints, investigates them, and then attempts to mediate the dispute between the landlord and tenant.

FHCRC also hosts educational workshops for both landlords and tenants on their rights and responsibilities under Fair Housing laws.
