Housing conditions/habitability

Our landlord would come every month for rent. In october he didn't come. His wife then came around 28th of Oct. stating we need 2 pay or deal with bank i then told her i would pay her on Nov.3rd both months and she then refused saxing it was 2 late. we then found a notice on the door that ho me was on foreclosure and was being auctioned on Jan.9 Two wks after this date the landlords wife shows up demanding that we have to vacate by the 28th because the home didnt end up getting foreclosed. Now she is stating she going to serve me with a 3-day eviction.

I moved to Santa Monica in 1974 and have been renting my home ever since. In those 36 years I have lived in 16 different rentals: 10 apartments & 6 houses from Santa Monica to Santa Barbara to Daly City and finally Pacifica, CA.
 

We are 2 physically disabled elderly adults that have been wrongfully retalatorily evicted from our former residence of nearly 19 years at 3131 34 Ave. SAC. CA. for lawful just exercise of our civil rights.Through unlawful rent increases,inept/incompetent unlicensed contractors causing housing inhabitability,age/race/disability/housing discrimination,wrongful retaliatory discrimination(civil1942.5a),wrongful eviction,rigged legal case against us,we have been made wrongfully homeless in temporary housing.Can anyone help us obtain much needed urgent housing? The house I have been renting for 12 years is in foreclosure. The auction date was posted on my door and has been changed twice. The next date is in December. I have 2 issues: 1-do I still pay rent to a landlord that has not paid the morgage in 14 months (I thought this was fraud) and 2- the heater does not work, the oven does not work, the lights in the bathroom do not work, etc. What are my rights? They say they will take me to court if I do not pay the rent - do they have a leg to stand on?

I used to live in one of Mr. Sterling's Beverly Hills apartments. It was probably the only apartment building in Beverly Hills where rats freely roamed. Mr. Sterling should probably buy a hotel and be found dead in every room. Total slimeball.

With only cursory notice three weeks ago, landlord has begun major remodeling of the entire fourplex containing our apartment. There are now no exterior walls or roof covering. There is no security or privacy. Beautiful deck was removed and all plants in garden have been cut down. There is constant hammering, sawing, and dust. Apartment is freezing cold at night. Water is periodically turned off. Garage is blocked. No rental adjustment was offered. I do not know what to do.

I am choosing to write about the diverse challenges that central valley residents tend to encounter. I have rented in California for over 25 years. In that time, I have always encountered a loss of security deposits for many reasons, most fabricated lies by the owner/landlord. I have tried to contest these thieves repeatedly with no success or laws to protect me. They steal the money, simply stated.

Hi my name is cindy and i live in the san joaquin valley and my landlord didn't tell me and my daughter that he had 101 health code violations and after i gave him the money we where moving our stuff in the apt he told us that we couldn't move are stuff in the apt because code enforcement would cut his throat if they found any one living in the apt because he they have to check first and so we asked when would code enforcement be able to check are room he said in 2 or 3 days so we waited and the 3 days it was 5 days later .

me my husband and my 1 year old daughter just moved into our first apartment 2 months ago. every since the day we got ur keys we have had nothing but problems. we are a working family just tring to survive and i would call us pretty clean people. however our home is infested with flyies and there are maggets on the outside of my wall in the hall way. my landlord wont even return our calls and im afraid this will soon affect the health of my family. i have even found roaches in my kitchen droors. i dont know what to do. who can i call?
