Retaliation/harassment

Tamora

Hi! My name is Tamora and I have been living at my present residence going on for three years now. My story is much to long to list here because it involves too many issues that require a lot of explanation. However, I can give you a little background of my present situation. What I am mainly dealing with is people that have varying degrees of both mental and physical incapacities as well as drug abuse, etc... Also I am having to deal with a landlady who is all of the above, plus, she has anger issues that are quite severe!

Hi! My name is Tamora and I will give you a brief history or background about my tenancy issues. As long as I been residing here I California I for one reason after another had to relocate six or seven times because of either of unscrupulous landlords/ladies and bad tenants! My current situation is even more dire!!!!! To be brief I had to take matters into my own hands and call law enforcement three separate times because of harassment and retaliation!!!!

My leasing agent called me at the end of the 12 month lease. He placed a standard 8% increase and offered me to renew the lease for either 6 month or 12 months. I felt pressured. I resisted and said I'm going MTM (month to month). He said they don't offer month to month lease renewals, but he can do a 2 months lease. I said no. He said that they needed a commitment. He wanted to know why I didn't want to renew my lease. I said I didn't want to commit. Then came a different form of pressure - he stated "By signing a lease, the power is with you over us to prevent you from being vacated".

My landlord had my shower floor replaced in 2004 or '05, before I moved in in 2006. Poor workmanship caused the shower floor to leak through to the unit below mine, in 2010. Again my landlord had a buddy of his do a job that was far beyond that guy's abilities, so that water doesn't drain but remains in the corners and edges. My landlord agreed to have the shower replaced whenever I requested, I did that in March, 2014, after the landlord notified me that my rent was being raised by quite a bit.

I was picketing outside of senior apts. Now manager have lied an said that I go around assulting tenants and employees to not only get me out of here but also to get me to lose my SECTION 8. I will be out in the streets with my dogs because no one is going to rent to me with what they have put on paper. I have no money for a lawyer.

We’re pawns in a rich investor’s game. Dolls on display living in a condo that’s for sale.

This is my first home in Cali. I’ve been here for 5-years. It started out at a reasonable price but the rents went up 30% in roughly the last 2 of the 5 years I’ve been here. There’s no justification for it other than gentrification fueled by rich speculators from China and Orange County. I can’t believe property speculation is legal. It’s disgusting.

I have been living at this apartment for a little over 14 years.
We have different managers and different expectations.
We are seniors with fix income, however, the rent used to be increased by $10.00 increments, however, now, the increments are $25 (more than double)
The manager makes a lot of noise for the widow living below her (like taking showers after midnight)but she made the widow below her unit, to remove an American Flag she had on her patio.

In a nutshell. I am being evicted based on a term lease expiration. I was renting a house for 5 years in Chatworth, CA. During that 5 years, the landlords were constantly disturbing my quiet enjoyment by making up excuses to come to the house to work on mainly the dam sprinklers. Not having sense enough to leave when they got here. I expressed my annoyances to them on many occasions. I renewed the lease 3 times because I wanted to stay in the area since my daughter was in high school. She graduated in June 2014. The rent was increased during the five years from $1,950 to $2,200.
