A public
hearing on a proposal to annex about 500 acres to even out the northern
boundary of San Jacinto may be postponed from Thursday to February.

The city requested a delay to finalize details of a rent control
agreement with owners of Country Lake Mobile Home Park, which would be
included in the annexation, according to a Riverside Local Agency
Formation Commission staff report.

A report by commission staff recommends the hearing be put on the commission's Feb. 25 meeting agenda.

During a community outreach meeting at the mobile home park in
March, many residents voiced concerns about rent control, which they
have while living in unincorporated Riverside County. The city does not
have rent control.

The Riverside Local Agency Formation Commission, which has a say in
city and other agency boundary determinations in Riverside County,
meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Riverside County Administrative Center on
Lemon Street in Riverside.

Two geographic areas are included in the annexation proposal: the
Country Lake neighborhood along State Street and an area east of San
Jacinto Avenue on both sides of the Ramona Expressway north to the San
Jacinto River.
