CAPITOLA -- The City Council voted
3-1 Thursday night to raise rents for part-time residents at the
city-owned Pacific Cove Mobile Home Park to $600 a month.
City staff found 13 residents to be in the part-time category and thus
not eligible for rent control, down from 18 in a preliminary review.
Most pay between $160 and $250 a month, so the rent hike would generate
about $65,000 more for city coffers depleted by the recession.
