We too are in the middle of the Horse Country Hill like Tim and Trish. Only we are the former Landlords tenants at his legal address for the loan. Everytime we saw a real estate agent or a process server, my wife and I were asked if we were the former owners. Turns out the property was bought by Sutton Funding. They are a company that rock stars, sports stars and actors toss money into for investing. We at the moment have papers for tenants saying that they have 10 days to file with the courts.

We have lived in the same rental home for the last 3 years. We have always paid our rent and to the best of out knowledge everything was fine, until there was a trustee sale notice put up on the outside of our house. I called the landlord and he assured me that he was trying to rewrite the loan on the home and he was only behind a couple of payments. This turned out to be untrue. He said he had spoken to a lawyer that was more then happy to take his money and then produce no results.

I have been renting the same home for 3 years now. The owners never told us that they were in default on the house. I got the Notice of Trustee Sale back in December of 2008. Every month I go and see what is happening at the auction site. Everytime it keeps getting postponed and now it is being postponed because they filed bankruptcy on it. We still pay the rent because we were told until it is sold then it still belongs to them. I am angry because they are still late on their payments and have not paid their taxes on the house since 12/2008.

I have been leasing a 3 bd rm house in Hayward for 3 years. I invested with the owner half on the upgrades on the kitchen and bath room. I found out that the home is in forclosure and was scheduled to be sold this past 3/20/09. Per the vendor request the foreclosure has been rescheduled until 4/20/09. When I contacted the owner about my funds I invested I was told my money was tied up in the house. I found out that Heritage Plaza Mortgage in Stockton which went out of business and Wells Fargo are who the lenders are for the property.

My landlord just signed a new 1 year lease with me and collected the yearly rent. I have a fixed income and pay this way to help budget my expenses. I find out 3 days after the payment was made that my unit was sold at trustee sale. The bank bought it back and is threatening eviction. I am a widowed single parent, visually disabled with a disabled child. My land lord has 1750 in security and pet deposits, my 1 year of rent and labor bills for repairs made last year. I have nothing left to move with. The bank has offered 900 cash for keys but that wouldn't cover rent on a new place.

We rented from the same lady in Davis for 3 years. We were informed that we would share PGE and our mailbox and the trash bins upon move in. We had numerous tenants that lived behind us move out and not pay their portion of the PGE which turned out to be considerable. The 4 plex was not zoned correctly so there was no way to tell how much the water or the electricity was and so we were forced to guess each month. The first place we rented from, the roaches were so bad that I couldn't walk through a room without turning on the lights.
