My landlord just signed a new 1 year lease with me and collected the yearly rent. I have a fixed income and pay this way to help budget my expenses. I find out 3 days after the payment was made that my unit was sold at trustee sale. The bank bought it back and is threatening eviction. I am a widowed single parent, visually disabled with a disabled child. My land lord has 1750 in security and pet deposits, my 1 year of rent and labor bills for repairs made last year. I have nothing left to move with. The bank has offered 900 cash for keys but that wouldn't cover rent on a new place. I have no idea what to do or where to even start looking for housing. I am thinking that I will fight in court for my money and take my story to the local papers. The least I can do is embarrass the bank for evicting a person in my situation. Anyone have any suggestions on subsidized housing?
