Eviction

After a harrowing 2 years due to the fires, greedy landlords, and being forced out on streets. I found myself in the crisis stabilization unit in Santa Rosa after a suicide attempt . My fear of being homeless is more than I can bear. Two years later I thought I had found the perfect home in Cotati and I could afford the rent after living with my mother in a converted garage for nearly nine months. The woman that rented me a room for lived in a HUD home off of East Cotati.

Landlord sent death threatens to me and my family regarding the loss of $200 or money he lost. He harassed my family constantly for rent afterwards and changed the locks when we were late a few times on rent . He threthen to throw our belongings outside in trash bags and entered our rental two times without giving proper notice. All these events are documented in messages between myself and my landlord via Facebook messenger.

I was hired as a property manger for a single family dwelling with 8 rental units in Echo Park area. 1905 it was built. The day I moved in, she said I needed to provide my own heating! Some days were 55 degrees inside and warmer outside, as there was no insulation. A stroke of synchronicity, one week after I moved in, Building and Safety drives by the property on survey. Finally I have a conversation with the inspector and I asked him about the heating, he confirms heating is part of a warranty of habitability. The landlord becomes outraged.

I could not put in my name or anyone elses because PG&E was requesting a legit lease from the landlord, but he would not give me one what he provided was a hand written lease stating my residence.

Today at 1:45pm EST I received a knock on my apartment door and I looked in the peephole to a unknown white female in a black blouse. I asked her who she was and she stated that she had “something to give me.” When I refused to open the door she became enraged and started kicking and bamming the door. I immediately called security feeling endangered. When I realized she was getting more enraged I called 911. When the police arrived I stated what happened and the lady walked off.
