I am currently in a home that is being auctioned off on August 20, 2009. The owners of the home claim they still own it, but after talking to the bank they are using I was told that they do not own the home and that it is in fact going to auction and that they are not working with the home owner as the contracts have expired and it is now to late for them. I got the bank info off the county notice taped to our door. They just emailed me and said I needed to pay my rent or move out in 30 days.

I am a veteran with a fixed income. I've been collecting my $350.00 for many years/. Now the governer has slashed the 191 million that we desparately need. My rent is 85 % of my income. I'm disabled and have no other supplements, no other income. and now I can't work.

Prepared for impending sale and cash-for-keys benefits. Property went back to Lender. Locks changed, personal property removed. 90-day notice given. Illegal lockout situation.

I have lived in this small two-bedroom house on a quiet residential street in Pasadena, CA for a little over two years. I've put a lot of my own money into the house, maintained it myself and always paid rent on time. That is, until eight months ago when, like a lot of people, I lost my job.

My landlord has been very understanding and not pressured me to move. I borrowed money from family to pay a portion of the back rent, but then my house was robbed.

We are renting a house in San Jose, CA. On April 22 2009 there was a "notice of trustee sale" taped to our door, advising that the property was going to auction on May 11, and that if it did not sell, ownership would revert to the bank. We discussed this with our landlord, and several days later he advised us that he had been granted additional time to negotiate with the bank, and that the trustee sale would be postponed for at least 90 days.

We too are in the middle of the Horse Country Hill like Tim and Trish. Only we are the former Landlords tenants at his legal address for the loan. Everytime we saw a real estate agent or a process server, my wife and I were asked if we were the former owners. Turns out the property was bought by Sutton Funding. They are a company that rock stars, sports stars and actors toss money into for investing. We at the moment have papers for tenants saying that they have 10 days to file with the courts.

I'm also a victim of a Diamond House Development called 'La Mirage Duplex Homes'. I have retired from the Navy recently, and never dreamed that I was going to end up in a situation like this. Diamon House Development has fell into foreclosure on 300 units here in Ridgecrest, California. This is causing a major strain on this little town of 30,000. I'm being forced out of a really nice place (former base housing) and may end up in a less than desirable home for my wife and I.

I had an experience a couple of years ago. Our landlord passed away and before we knew it, our home was up for sale. The son hired a property management company. My very first interaction with the management company came with a threat to evict if I got in her way to selling the house. I was quite shaken and decided to check my rights as a tenant. There are very specific rules as to when they can show an occupied property with regards to giving notice, leaving identity of the person who showed the house, etc. They proceeded to break all of those rules.
