We want you to know about the Concord Four: tenant-leaders Olga Chan, Feliciano Puerto, Gloria Ayala, and Juan Carlos Mendoza, who have been fighting slumlord Steven Pinza for repairs and fair rents. They are now being evicted for standing up for their rights. They need your support.
Pinza is like many landlords all over the Bay Area who raise rents and refuse to make repairs. Concord tenants are now facing the rising tide of gentrification and displacement. We need organizers like the Concord Four to stay in their homes so they can continue to work with their neighbors and advance tenants' rights. Will you join us in supporting them?
Thanks to the hard work of Tenants Together attorneys, the eviction trials for the Concord Four have been postponed. Here are a few things you can do:
1.) Donate to the Concord 4 legal fund
Donate online: http://bit.ly/concordfour
2.) Call or email landlord Steven Pinza and demand he rescind the evictions of the Concord 4 immediately
Work Phone: 510-725-4775
Cell phone: 510-926-8771
Email: steve@pinzagroup.com
3.) Support the concord 4 at their eviction trial
When: TBA August
Where: Contra Costa County Superior Court - 725 Court St #127, Martinez, CA 94553
As well as helping tenants organize, Tenants Together is mounting a legal defense for the four tenants being evicted. In order to cover legal costs, a fundraising page has been launched at http://bit.ly/concordfour to raise $4000. Chip in to let the Concord Four know you have their backs.
