Through volunteers and staff, PLC provides free civil legal services, including counseling, individual representation, community education, and strategic litigation and advocacy to challenge societal injustices.
PLC works to preserve and create affordable housing in Orange County, prevent homelessness, and assist tenants who are being unfairly evicted or who are subjected to sub-standard living conditions. PLC can assist with:
Public Counsel provides a wide variety of legal services to low-income individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses.
Public Counsel's Homelessness Prevention Law Project: eviction defense team provides assistance through direct representation at the Stanley Mosk and Pasadena Courthouses; prepare self-represented tenants through their clinics to assist them in defending their right to stay in their home and prevent them from becoming homeless.
Public Counsel's Consumer Law Project: protects consumers from unlawful debt collection and consumer fraud.

The Housing Resource Center of Monterey County provides a continuum of housing resources for homeless prevention to access affordable housing opportunities.
Emergency Rental Assistance:
The Community Legal Information Center (CLIC) is a student-run, non-profit organization that has been providing legal information to students and community members for over 40 years. Free legal information is offered in 11 areas of the law, including housing.
The Housing Rights Center (HRC) offers an array of services:
1) Housing Discrimination Complaint Investigation
2) Landlord-Tenant Counseling (in-person or through hotline)
Community Legal Aid SoCal is dedicated to meeting the legal needs of the greatest number of low-income people throughout Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
