I was hired as a property manger for a single family dwelling with 8 rental units in Echo Park area. 1905 it was built. The day I moved in, she said I needed to provide my own heating! Some days were 55 degrees inside and warmer outside, as there was no insulation. A stroke of synchronicity, one week after I moved in, Building and Safety drives by the property on survey. Finally I have a conversation with the inspector and I asked him about the heating, he confirms heating is part of a warranty of habitability. The landlord becomes outraged. I was wrongfully fired as the property manager and threatened with illegal eviction. She locked me out, removed my front and back door, stole from me $2,224 in property and lied to the police. I went through one year of harassment because she had stolen my SSN and blocked me from renting another place. She actually burglarized me, caught on my hidden camera, theft totaling $17,375 in property loss and damages. She was trespassing 43 times without cause and entered my rental unit with her key, in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. All these stresses caused me to lose significant jobs and shaking to my nervous system, feeling like I was having a stroke or heart attack. I ended up in the emergency room on several occasions. Then my body finally started breaking down with Cancer. The landlord also proceeded with numerous frivolous lawsuits and extortion. She warned me, no one will protect me from her, and then I caught LADBS and HCIDLA with manipulated documents. In court i witnessed my retaliatory eviction defense suppressed with motions in limine. Let BG story short I managed to get the Judgment Vacated and now suing the landlord for over $1 mil. Now I have a GoFundMe for two lawsuits against City of Los Angeles for a breach of duty to provide services and protections to a US citizen (tenant).
