We rented a beautiful home in Temecula, Ca after selling our home after loss of job 4 yrs ago. We signed a two yr lease and have lived here for one yr. We began receiving mail addressed to the landlord from the county of Riverside and mortgage attorney's, immediately we knew something was wrong. We actually went through a property management company hoping to avoid our biggest fears. We contacted our property management company and they contacted the owners and they verified they were in default. The owner never notified us nor did the management company they just continued to collect our rent and not pay their mortgage. Our property manager basically told us the owners are filing bankruptcy and they are no longer managing the home so we are basically on our own. We did not even receive our deposit back; the property manager claims the owners have it.
