This is a sad, sad, issue. My own father is my landlord. He offered, yes he offered to buy this house for me and my kids, ages 16 and 15. He moved me out here, 75 miles from my job so that we would have a stable place to live and the kids could finish high school without inturuption like moving schools. Well on August 29th my son's 16th birthday, he told me that he was sick of me and my kids and that we had until the end of October to move out, I asked him if we could just stay here until the kids finished school then we would leave and he could do what ever he wants with the house, sell it, rent it out to other people and he said no, I want you guys out. I told him that if he wants us out, we will go but to be realistic, I can't continue to pay the mortgage and all of the utilities and save money to move out, so I would not be paying him the mortgage so I can save and move out. He said that I if I didn't pay him he would evict me and take me to court, on September 5th I received a 3 day to pay or quit notice and on 9/26 I received a summons for eviction. I had to get a lawyer to answer the summons, so the money I have been saving to move out, spent on the lawyer. I know i am going to lose in court but I am trying to buy some time so that I can find a place and move out, I don't want to stay here, I really don't but I have no choice. I am a single mom, I make enough money to pay my bills, food, clothes and gas for work. He is basically kicking his own daughter and grandkids out on the street. I can't talk to him becasue all he does is put me and my kids down. I don't know how a parent could treat a child this way. I work full-time and have raised my kids alone, they are good kids, A and B students, kind, polite and respectful. I don't know what is going to happen to us but I just hope that I can find a place I can afford, here in Hollister so that I can make sure I keep my promise to my kids not to move them schools. I also have pets and he has threatened to come over here while I am at work an "get rid of them". He has also entered my house when I have been at work and the kids at school. Please just think about us send us good vibes and thoughts so that we can find a place, move and live in peace.
