My building is filled with mold and dust in all the vents. Pipes leak constantly, and recently the landlord turned down the water pressure in all units because his water bills were getting too expensive. Turns out the leaks were making his bills high, not tenant overuse of water. Something breaks in my apartment every week. The huge turnaround in tenancy at this building has workers here very often, renovating apartments, and recently the workers left debris all over the driveway, rusty nails and broken wood boards, and driving over this (unavoidable), I punctured a brand new tire with a nail from the debris. Landlord outright LIED about where the trash came from (blamed the trash company, when I actually SAW workers throwing garbage into piles in the driveway) and then when I called him on it he ended the conversation abruptly telling me to have a nice holiday with my family, with a nasty tone. Refused to reimburse me for the tire. Most recently my garbage disposal broke and the sink back up flooded my kitchen, rendering it unusable the day before Thanksgiving. Said he would come out to fix it that day but conveniently "forgot," and I was unable to cook for the holiday. This guy is a grade A jerk, and I just want to put this out there in case anyone who wants to move into my building is smart enough to investigate the landlord before signing a lease. I can't afford to move right now but as soon as I can, I will.
