Good day, September 1st 2013.

I live in Walnut Creek California with my wife and two sons of 14,11 year olds.
One of my sons is disabled.

Our lease agreement is coming to an end on September 1st, 2013. I found the Notice To Vacate, on my front door knob, on August 23d, there were no alternative offerings for me,2013. That leaves us seven days to vacate. School started on August 28th.
When I emailed the manager asking to renew our lease, I received the following.

"Unfortunately at this time we are looking to update the unit. We can
offer you an additional 30 days, but nothing more. Please let me know if
you have further questions I can answer."

I'm yet to receive that notice.

It should be noted that I've lived in this apartment for the last ten(10) years, and the unit has been kept in great condition, there was no delinquent payments.

And then I replied to her that I'd like to rent another available apartment. I know there are empty apartments there. She didn't respond(ignored) to my email. I suspect that our new owners are discriminating against people with children. And 30 day notice state law.

In my lease agreement it noted that either party should give at least 30 day notice, and I know legally she had to give me at least 30 days notice as well, which she gave me over the email.

We are looking for another apartment right now, if there's anyone who knows exactly what to do please help
