On June First I recieved a 15% increase and last year a 11% increase. I am already working two jobs as it is and making a little more than 35,000 a year after being laid off shortly after moving into this apartment. I recieved a notice with no way to reach the owner. I asked for the number from the manager and she said that nothing would probably change becaus the units were going for 1300 a month. I have had several issues of concern, last christmas I had several sewage backups in my bathtub that were handled but the plumber saiud there were several issues that needed to be attaneded to in the apartment next door. The issues next door included a hole in the wall in the shower where moiture is continually damaging the walls. My kitchen is evidently damaged from the moisture next door and have mentioned it several times. my neighbor takes several showers a day and when I have talked to him in front of the door the mildew smell is evident and I cannot believe he lives there. He says he cannot afford to live there and the managers husband harasses him and beguiles him when asked for something to be fixed.
I think they should be investgated for not keeping the apartments up correctly and for hazardous conditions just based on what I have witnessed. I know there isn't much that can be done about my rent increase but it would be nice if there was rent control in sunnyvale liek there is in San Jose and surrounding cities.
