San Francisco public housing is not including Earned Income Disregard when they calculate the rents of residents who have a job, or training program. According to the law passed by Congress in 1999, every public housing resident over 18 yrs old is eligible for Earned Income Disregard, if they qualify. Therfore PHA residents in all cities and states, including San Francisco can have their income disregarded for up to one year at 100% of the income. This means your rent stays at the lower amount for 1 year, so PHA residents can save and become self sufficient.
San Francisco public housing just got voted one of the worst public housings in the nation. From habitability issues, infestations, poor management, to lack of maintenance, all the residents suffer.
Now our civil rights are in violation and no one cares because this is a generation who
doesnt care. I care. Do you care?
I dare you to use your power to
make a change. San Francisco Housing Authority a most likely other PHA's in the area are also breaking the Earned Income Disregard law and basing evictions on a higher calculation of rent that should have been disregarded. I feel a class action law suit should be filed against SFHA to refund the miscalculated rent back to the past and present residents. Wake up people! Your civil rights are being violated! I really need this organization to help. Thank-you
