Housing Resource Center of Monterey County

The Housing Resource Center of Monterey County provides a continuum of housing resources for homeless prevention to access affordable housing opportunities.

Emergency Rental Assistance:

  • Rapid Re-housing—we move quickly to obtain permanent housing for an individual or a family that is already homeless. These clients are our highest priority.
  • Homeless Prevention—some clients have housing, but are in danger of imminent eviction due to a one-time or short-term need. This may arise from job loss, injury or other unforeseen incident keeping the family from meeting its obligations.

Our case managers also assess clients and refer them to additional aid they may be eligible for, such as food, employment, and child care.

Financial Literacy:

  •  One-on-one counseling with our Case Managers planning for future expenses and teaching how to set money aside for savings
