I'm a San Francisco native, I grew up in the Richmond District and had always assumed that I would live my whole life in San Francisco, but I was a single mom, working full time for low wages as only single moms know, and I found myself having to get out of a bad relationship and the other one wouldn't leave didn't want to split up and the flat was in my name, but he wouldn't leave. I searched and searched and no one would rent to me because I had a child. They kept lying to me that San Francisco was not a suitable place for children, which I knew was BS, because I grew up here.

Summary of facts:
Many of the people in the smaller farming communities are renters. Most of them do not speak, read or write English. Yet their rental agreements are written in a language which they cannot read, and in terms they do not comprehend.

We rented a 2 bdrm apartment for a little 2 years. After we moved out we were charged various fees for supposed damages. We gave our 30 days noticeIin aug 31 and start moving out sep 15. Then we left for vacation for a week coming back to finish cleaning the apartment by the 30. We received a letter stating that they charge us 600 for cleaning the apartment and 1300 for carpets.we left the apartment clean.

After being harassed multiple times within the week of change of management, I put in my 30 days noticed, which my landlord refused to honor. After a fight, and a lengthy letter explaining my legal right with documentation proving my moving out, I was ready to do my move out inspection, which my landlord never showed up for. I have waited 21 days for my deposit to be returned to me, and have been ignored, after multiple attempts to contact my landlord.

Not sure where to start but here it goes. We were living in Oakhurst California we rented property with 2 homes on it my mother and my 3 handicap younger siblings lived in 1 house and my husband and myself and his disabled brother were going to live in the other which we soon found out that wouldn't be possible due to the condition of my younger brother who was on hospice and had to be monitored 24/7 and my elderly mother wanted us in her home at all times especially at night because she was afraid besides the fact she could barely walk.

My landlord didn't return my security deposit after I moved out. I left VM and requests per email in regards to the deposit. He never responded. I sent him the CA tenant laws and one month later after move out date I rcd a check minus deductions. The deductions were unreasonable. The carpet was dirty when I moved in-it was about 20ftby 14 and he charged $350 normal charge is $100. A cracked window the bldg is 70yrs old and the crack was probably caused by the wind. He states the tub was clogged in which it wasn't. Claims a missing curtain and unit didn't have a curtain when I moved in.
