Retaliation/harassment

The actual owner of the property we stay at has recently suffered his third stroke. His "family", the individuals now claiming to care about his health and wellness effectively showed up to the property in Columbia, California FROM OREGON claiming to be the current "owners". The actual owner's son (one who has made very poor choices concerning his father and has had NO contact with him in over 6 years) called the local sherriff demanding that the three tenants currently residing at the home must go. His claim is owner occupation.

Long story short. We are tenants who were evicted with a written unexpired lease in a property that was foreclosed on. We clearly have protections under PTFA 2009 and AB2610 but the orange county judges, sheriffs department, baNK Of america and safeguard and their attorneys have no respect or even care about the law.

San Francisco public housing is not including Earned Income Disregard when they calculate the rents of residents who have a job, or training program. According to the law passed by Congress in 1999, every public housing resident over 18 yrs old is eligible for Earned Income Disregard, if they qualify. Therfore PHA residents in all cities and states, including San Francisco can have their income disregarded for up to one year at 100% of the income. This means your rent stays at the lower amount for 1 year, so PHA residents can save and become self sufficient.

My husband, his brother & myself are all disabled & for the first time in my life I know what homeless is like, only because I was standing up for what is right, not for me but someone else & I am still taking that stand. My landlord evicted us illegally & he stalked me, but I will still do the right thing. I just pray we can find a place to live soon. Doing What's Rright . When I moved into my condo it needed alot of repairs. The repairs included: non working heat/air unit, no working fire alarms, painting/walls were badly soiled, and patio storage filled with all sorts of junk left from former tenant. The landlord agreed to credit the work. After moving in, discovered that the heat/air unit did not work, and didnt realize that there was no hood or venilation for over stove. When there's smoke from kitchen must open window. A few months after moving in I lost my good paying job, and fell behind 2 months in partial rent.

In Oct of 2012 I called code enforcement on the landlord, a woman who knows nothing about real estate has since retaliated by trying to evict myself and my roommate. My roommate and I had to pay for an attorney and then went to fair housing and they have opened an investigation for all kinds of miss deeds and quoting laws that do not exist.

I wanted to update everyone on the battle we are having with the investment company Rancho Horizon LLc / Griffin Residential that purchased the home we have a lease through Dec. 2013. For over 9 months they continue to harass, break multiple civil codes and ignore Federal Laws. We have already been in contact with other tenants that have been harassed by this company. They continue to use scare tactics and harass my family to try to get us to vacate. We need to stand up and get your voices heard about this type of behavior.

I moved out of my apartment after my neighbors and my landlord began calling me and harassing me about where my boyfriend parked. He barely came over, but when he did, he parked in a communal parking area where other tenants families/friends parked. Being a young, single female, I became uncomfortable with being watched and constantly harassed. I gave my 30 days notice and moved out. My landlord and I completed the final walk-through together where she said she would be charging me for cleaning, even though I had cleaned it so it was in better condition than when I had moved in.
