Orange County Superior Court Self Help Centers

The Superior Court of Orange County Self-Help Centers and website provide services and procedural information for self-represented litigants in order to increase understanding, participation, and access to the justice system and to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness of the court. Self-help centers services include workshops; how-to booklets and form packets; and public computers with access to legal websites and easy-to-use document preparation software and SmartForms.

Legal Services for Seniors (LSS) can help with:
 
- Elder Abuse, Financial & Physical
- Security, SSI and private pension problems
- Health care, Medicare, Medi-Cal & private health insurance problems
- Housing rights and landlord/tenant disputes
- Advanced Health Care Directives
- Simple wills
- Consumer and debt collection problems
- Guardianships
 

Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles - Torrance Self-Help Center

They are walk-in clinics that offer self-representing individuals legal information, assistance in preparing legal forms, and guidance on a variety of civil matters, including evictions, divorces and paternity actions, and civil harassment. Referrals to private attorneys or legal services programs are provided as needed. They also host workshops in several areas:

1) Eviction (unlawful detainer) answers

2) Eviction (unlawful detainer) trial prep

3) Family law (divorce and paternity)

4) Record expungement

Mosbrucker & Foran

The law firm of Mosbrucker & Foran specializes in lawsuits involving wrongful evictions, Costa-Hawkins disputes and other excessive rent increases, illegal rental units, landlord harassment, and substandard living conditions. 

Most of the work we do for tenants is on a contingency fee basis. This means we don’t get paid until and unless you get paid, in which case we get a percentage of the total recovery. This only applies where the tenant is initiating a lawsuit in Superior Court.

Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA)

Neighborhood Legal Services believes access to safe, affordable housing is essential to the health of individuals, families, and communities.
 
The organization works to preserve affordable housing and rent control, prevent unlawful evictions and foreclosures, and fight discrimination in Section 8 and other government-subsidized housing. Attorneys provide a range of services, from advice and counsel to individual representation and high-impact litigation.
 
Services are available to qualifying residents of all LA County.
