Housing conditions/habitability

Tiffany

I have been renting the same home for 3 years now. The owners never told us that they were in default on the house. I got the Notice of Trustee Sale back in December of 2008. Every month I go and see what is happening at the auction site. Everytime it keeps getting postponed and now it is being postponed because they filed bankruptcy on it. We still pay the rent because we were told until it is sold then it still belongs to them. I am angry because they are still late on their payments and have not paid their taxes on the house since 12/2008.

Hello,

I am a renter of an apartment for over 12 years… rent never late or short.
Quiet building until a new property manager started. Then problems began.

We (Husband & 3 Kids) have lived in our place for 2 years. Where do I begin, First we pay an huge amount of rent for a small 2 bedroom place (1850.00). The place has no air conditioning, No Dish Washer, the bathrooms have mold and the toilet is pulling up from the floor and the carpets are disgusting and to top it off the landlord has refused to give us the mailbox.

Hi. After speaking with my on-site manager about the condition of my kitchen sink (pic attached), I sent her pictures on January 16, 2009. I explained to her that it needed re-glazing. It had been scheduled to be repaired approx. August, 2008, however I ended up in the emergency and had the order canceled as I was afraid to go home to the fumes. She mentioned to me how her sink was chipping some as well since she started working here a few months ago. The on-site manager contacted the property management company, Prodesse Property Group.

Parkmerced one of the largest rental apartment communities in SF, recently received a nomination as a "marvel of modernism" by the cultural landscape foundation. (www.tclf.org) The recent changes by the current owner, and sales of land to San Francisco State University (www.sfsumasterplan.org) which approved changes to the overall prior masterplanned development of parkmerced through the use of a programattic EIR, vs.

Landlord agreed to pay half the costs for a new (and much needed) bathroom sink and cabinet. Reneged on verbal agreement. when sink & cabinet were installed @ my expense, landlord entered premises (without permission, without my knowledge and without my presence)- USED MY TOOTHBRUSHES AND KITCHEN KNIVES TO RIP OUT THE SINK and then put it back using substandard caulking. He's an old, crazy, cranky man who is impervious to complaints and city officials. I don't know what to do.

Back in October 2008 the landlord called the police on a tenant which she does consistently about twice a month. The officer told her to stop calling and wasting their time. There were about 20 tenants or so outside and everyone finally started to stand up to the landlord. Stories went flying, all the tenants organized and realized that we were all going through the same abuse. It took about 1 1/2 years before everyone spoke because the landlord talked bad about tenants to other tenants and kept us all separated, probably in fear we would all figure out the truth behind her schemes.

Firstly, we are a victim of US Immigration mismanagement resulting in my wife's application to adjust status was jeopardized and she can't be resourceful.
The discrimination and retaliation by a welknown health care institution provider in the Inland Empire is a real trip.
