OK. How crazy can things get?
4 months after moving into a new home with a 2 year lease, my landlord informs me she is selling the place and starts having strangers coming in and out of my home.
Hello...I have been renting from the same people for several years. I have had to deal with loud nieghbors for most of the time. I live in a unit that is directly below my manager. He ignores my complaints about the other tenants. I recently received an email from my landlord threatening eviction if I continue to complain. They are basically saying that I need to put up with the noise or I will be kicked out. That is not fair! The neighbors are loud all hours of the night & day. I never get any peace here. I am a college student taking online courses.
I signed a 16 month lease Jan 2009. On July 24th I got a Notice of Default. I continued to pay rent to the landlord; he said he was trying to renegotiate the mortgage. On Nov 19th the property went to auction and title reverted to the bank. However, the bank never recorded the trustee's deed. So I continued to pay rent to the landlord. Jan 12, 2010 I received a letter from the landlord stating that ownership of the property had transferred to CEREF (a real estate investment company in Long Beach).
With only cursory notice three weeks ago, landlord has begun major remodeling of the entire fourplex containing our apartment. There are now no exterior walls or roof covering. There is no security or privacy. Beautiful deck was removed and all plants in garden have been cut down. There is constant hammering, sawing, and dust. Apartment is freezing cold at night. Water is periodically turned off. Garage is blocked. No rental adjustment was offered. I do not know what to do.
I am a veteran with a fixed income. I've been collecting my $350.00 for many years/. Now the governer has slashed the 191 million that we desparately need. My rent is 85 % of my income. I'm disabled and have no other supplements, no other income. and now I can't work.
SHAMEFUL!! , HOW THE STATE LEGISLATURE AN THE CALIF. GOVERNOR TREAT THE CLASS OF THE POPULATION THAT NEED A LEG UP IN TODAY'S WORLD....THE LOW INCOME RENTER AND DISABLED(REBATE)..THOSE WHO HAVE EARNED SOME RIGHT TO ASSISTANCE...I JUST VOTED NO ON ALL THE PRROPOSITIONS..HOW CAN WE TRUST THESE PEOPLE ANYMORE?..I HOPE THE PROPOSITIONS FAIL TO AVOID THE HEAVY HANDED USE OF PUBLIC FUNDS FOR THE PLEASURE OF OUR LEADERS. MAYBE, IF THEY PAID THEIR TAXES WE WOULDN'T HAVE A DEFICIT?
I do not think it is fair that we do not get our RENT REBATE, for 2 year straight. A lots of us depends on it to make end meet. THANK YOU.
I am a renter of an apartment for over 12 years… rent never late or short.
Quiet building until a new property manager started. Then problems began.
On 08-01-08 I moved into a back house, of a two house remodel. I let the landlord know that I wanted to build a deck and do home improvements. She and her relative Alex did not have any issues that they told me about. When in the later months around October or November I mentioned I wanted to get a roommate nothing was indicated that it would be an issue. I let the landlord know. I was suppose to get a garage door opener and never received one. My truck would not easily fit in the garage so I put my desk and computer in the garage and just used it in the garage.
