California Civil Rights Department

The California Civil Rights Department (CRD) is responsible for enforcing state fair housing laws that make it illegal to discriminate against or harass someone because of a protected characteristic, such as their gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion. California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA)

CARA is a statewide, progressive, grassroots senior advocacy organization representing over 800,000 members from affiliated organizations (union retiree groups, senior centers, senior resident associations, senior serving agencies, community groups). We work on issues to improve the quality of life for seniors such as advocating for the preservation and production of affordable housing, universal health care, long term care, protecting pensions and retirement security, access to prescription drugs, etc. We are the state affiliate of the national Alliance for Retired Americans.
