I used to live at 299 Carmel Ave #49, Marina CA 93933. It the Central Coast. I've gave my landlord a 30 day notice before I move out and my date of moving out is October 7, 2009. I drop off the keys in the mail and move to San Jose. I called her 1 1/2 weeks later and ask how much am I going to get from my deposit and she say the Maintenance guys haven't even work on the apartments yet. She never ask me about the pre inspection for move out. I didn't know anything about that move out until now. A week later I asked her again and she still haven't know my deduction for deposit I'm getting back. Then I called her the week after that and she told me she have mailed out on October 28, 2009 and I only get 44.00 back because she did the cleaning for 450.00, Me and my boyfriend did clean the bathroom and stove and kitchen and refrigerator. Even though we don't get full but a portion of our effort putting out. She charge me for carpet cleaning. The law say they can't charge you carpet cleaning just to make it look good for new tenancy. She charge me for wall paint. There was only a little bit of crayon which I scrub it out with the spray I bought and we patch the hole and paint the wall and she can't charge me for paint unless it is wall damage. I think she try to get every penny out of my security deposit without returning it. I felt that the landlord is taking advantage of me. It unfair for me and other tenants to go through this problem.
