I answered an ad for a house off of Craig's List for a single house on 1/4 acre for $1250.00. Set up an appointment to see the property. The landlord's daughter who is over 21 came to meet me and show me the property. It was clean inside and there was a small storage unit on the outside, which they said must be taken as is, as it has a dirt floor. I could not see very much of the floor or anything because the other tenant had it filled up. Here were the terms the daughter: it was $1300. $1250 for rent + $50 for utilities except for cable, phone and internet. The mobile home came with everything except the washer & dryer and all repairs are the responsibility of the tenant.

I moved in on 9/1/10 at 12:15 pm and the following conditions were there:
NO Refrigator, the storage unit is a complete mess including a dead rat and lizard. When I called the daughter she said if you don't like it find a new place to move into, but I was already moved in and the movers had left. The father arrived late that evening with a refrigator that had mold on the inside and did not work. Said I needed to sign and agreement and if I wanted the storage unit to be clean, I had to do it myself. When we went through the rental agreement, he explained I needed to arrange for all of my own utilities. I told him what his daughter said, he said it wasn't going to work (at that point he had my deposit and $1000 of the first months rent) and I had 20 days to move out. Now I have no hot water, nor does the stove work (I am assuming it is because they use propane). I have called both the daughter and the father to find out how which company to call but NO ONE will return my call. I do not have the money to hire other movers and I believe I am due back all of my money plus my moving expenses. Please HELP.
