What started as a good situation has turned incredibly bad. Our landlords have financial problems and have illegally rented out a guestroom on the first floor (no kitchen, nor sink) and have moved out of their apartment above us and have begun to rent it out furnished on a weekly basis. We now live with a revolving door of people coming into the building partying, running around on uncarpeted wood floors, moving furniture, coming and going at all times of the day and night, kids screaming and yelling and blocking our garage.

We have addressed the issues with the landlord and have been told lie after lie ("it's only for 3 months," "it's just temporary," "we're moving back in," "we'll ask them not to park there," "we'll ask them to be quiet and more considerate." Long story short we now live in an expensive apartment which is so loud and aggravating that we can not sleep and hate being in it. Despite the fact that they changed the usage of the building after we had moved (from permanent residence to vacation) and added an additional and illegal rental unit. It looks as though our only options are to stay and not have a quiet, comfortable home or incur the cost of moving to a new apartment which would cause us financial hardship at this point and quite possibly lose our sizable security deposit due to the landlords financial problems.
