I am a RN and a clinician, case manager for a non profit agency here in SD county. We help low income, mentally ill seniors who are at risk of homelessness maintain their independence. I am having trouble explaining to these impoverished mentally ill elders that our governor took away these much needed funds! My clients depend on this money to have winter clothing. Most of my cilents live on under $1000/mo and barely squeak by with donations of food from the food banks. Now due to the governor's veto of the renters credit these people have no funds for winter clothing or that once a year necessary expense that they save it for. The way we treat our poor and mentally ill citizens is deplorable!
