Mobile-home owners in Oceanside will be forced to pay a yearly $60 fee for rent control services. Funds to support Oceanside's rent control program were previously paid from Redevelopment monies.

Tenants and landlords debate the rent control referendum that would restore Oceanside's mobile home rent controls.

The Oceanside City Council on Wednesday decided to take $93,000 from a reserve fund to pay to put to a public vote a plan to phase out rent control for mobile home parks in the city.
