L.A. Tenants Union / Sindicato de Inquilinos de L.A.

We are a tenant-centered movement that fights for the human right to housing for all. We demand truly affordable and safe housing, oppose the dismantling of rent-stabilized homes, organize against the mass evictions and displacement, and mobilize for repeal of the Ellis Act and Costa-Hawkins Act. Our mission is to strengthen tenants’ political power by educating and advocating amongst tenants themselves. A membership-based organization, the Tenants Union meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. If you are a renter, or currently without housing, become a member today and help fight for our right to the city!

L.A. Tenant's Hotline

L.A. Tenants Union now offers fast and effective solidarity casework assistance to help tenants resolve problems before they involve costly legal fees. Tenants often find themselves in a position of fighting an eviction when it is too late. The existing legal services organizations are overwhelmed due to the high demand of fighting evictions. Solving tenant problems before they reach the eviction stage prevents displacement and keeps tenants in their homes!L.A. Tenants Union solidarity casework is a partnership between the Tenants Union with Union de Vecinos and People Organized for Westside Renewal. Union de Vecinos has twenty years of experience supporting tenants rights. P.O.W.E.R. has sixteen years of experience. What makes L.A. Tenant Union casework assistance unlike any other tenant assistance program is that as a member of the Tenants Union you have the backing of a citywide union of tenants fighting for housing justice.
