Asian Pacific American Legal Center

Our mission is to advocate for civil rights, provide legal services and education, and build coalitions to positively influence and impact Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders and to create a more equitable and harmonious society.
The Asian Pacific American Legal Center, a member of the Asian American Center for Advancing Justice, is the nation’s largest legal and civil rights organization for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (NHPI).

Founded in 1983, APALC serves more than 15,000 individuals and organizations every year. Through direct services, impact litigation, policy advocacy, leadership development, and capacity building, APALC focuses on the most vulnerable members of Asian American and NHPI communities while also building a strong voice for civil rights and social justice.

APALC is based in downtown Los Angeles, with satellite offices in Orange County.

APALC provides legal information, counseling and representation to individuals, especially those who speak little or no English, on the telephone or in person. APALC prioritizes issues affecting immigrant and low-income communities.
