Housing Now! Part-Time Organizer 

Tenants Together, California’s statewide organization for renters’ rights, seeks a part-time Organizer for our “Housing Now!” campaign.  This is a part-time position based in our San Francisco office.

The Position

Tenants Together currently plays a key leadership role in the new broad coalition campaign for statewide housing justice, “Housing Now!” We are seeking a part-time Organizer to support our efforts in this campaign. For more information about Housing Now! visit

Job Responsibilities:

·         Participate in Housing Now! Planning committee and Organizing committee meetings

·         Outreach to members and member organizations to get them involved in Housing Now! campaign

·         Give presentations at member organization meetings about the statewide campaign

·         Help develop the statewide campaign timeline and strategy

·         Help coordinate logistics to pull together meetings, conference calls, and webinars associated with the campaign

·         Keep track of member data and update appropriately in Salesforce to track participation over time

·         Send out regular communications about campaign actions including emails, text messages, and phone calls to mobilize members


·         Minimum 1 year organizing experience at a community organization

·         Excellent reading and writing skills—as a statewide campaign, this is a critical component of communication

·         Excellent phone communications skills and ability to actively participate and add value to phone conferences and webinars

·         Strong facilitation skills both in-person or via phone conference or webinar

·         Strong relationship-building skills and ability to quickly build rapport and trust with our members and member organizations

·         Experience, either paid or unpaid, working on tenants’ rights issues


Salary, benefits, and timing:

·         This position is for a part-time regular employee at 10 hours a week for at least one year

·         Paid sick leave and vacation are provided on a pro-rated basis

·         Hourly wage is $18-$23 depending on experience
