In January of 2012 my partner and I entered into a residential lease agreement to rent a bungalow style cottage in a quickly gentrifying section of Hollywood, known by it's residents as "East Hollywood" in an attempt to associate the neighborhood with the quality and conditions found in it's neighbor to the west, West Hollywood. Unfortunately, after signing the lease the numerous repairs and rehab issues which were on-going and promised to be completed before move in were suddenly stopped without notice.

in october 2002, 6mos after meeting my boyfriend his parents asked us if we wanted to move into their house that they were moving out of since they were retiring. we were in an apartment at the time and agreed to move in. HUGE MISTAKE ON MY PART. ever since i have had problems with him and his family especially on ocasions when law enforcement was involved. being as it was his/his parents house, i was always the one who had 5 minutes to pack a bag and leave. on one occasion i had my own place for almost 2 years he would cause some drama and i was asked to leave.

I have been living at my apartment building for about 3 years. After 1 year, without notice, major renovations began. For the next 2 years, I have had to deal with noise, debris, lack of water, workers coming into my apartment every week, and recently was relocated to a different unit. The renovation has severely impacted my life. After several letters to the management describing the problems I have experienced and requesting some form of compensation, such as a decrease in rent, I was given a $300 credit.

Well I have a leak in the roof in my laundry room which is a new adddition they added before I rented, anyways I touched by the leak and the dry wall just gave way, and I noticed mold. So I called a roofer to come out to tell me the exact damage and cost because my landlord would just sent a maintance guy and patch it , which I can tell they have done before. The roofer told me the whole roof where the new additions are had to be replaced.

I am facing an eviction which i feel has been illegally forced up on me by perpertrators that were denying me employment, healthcare, and humane living conditions suitable for children and raising a family. What happened was i was living as caregiver for my grandparents before they passed away. the house went into foreclosure after they passed away and since i didnt have job or wasnt attending college. I didnt have work experience which looked good for my resume to employers.

Landlords have been found in violation of illegally renting apartments that are considered occupant non-permitted and uninhabitable conditions; rather than landlords working with tenant, we have been illegally evicted with unlawful detainer and have been retaliated against. Landlords have an attorney who is not willing to communicate with us and making it extremely difficult for us. I suffer from HIV, anxiety, depression, heart palpitations and high blood pressure; it is unfortunate that they do not care about our health during the process of litigation in small claims court.

My bf and I live in a large complex. There is a Sac Co. Housing Ord., that requires owners to register, take inspection course before marketing the unit; and unit was eventually cited for no heat, no cold water, inoperative lighting, electricity, roaches, mold, water intrusion in bath... the county housing authority just cited the owner and did nothing more.. we complained right when we moved in, after prepaying two months rent and deposit; LL would not refund, would not credit acct., did not offer another unit... was sued for ud and fighting abuse by attorney and judges...
