I am filing a complaint or need information on how to file a complaint with the city of Contra Costa and the rental increase. I believe the city of Contra Costa should have rent control. It seems that everyday the prices are increasing and becoming unaffordable to the working class. Due to this outrageous spike, I was unable to afford a home for me and my children; I was forced to move in with my mother.
Manager wouldn't allow us to see apartment until day we were to move in so when I called owner, manager took year lease away and only allowed 6mo. Now asked to leave after 6 months and have no place to go! Disabled
I went in to sign a rental agreement month to month with my husband, the manager had told us 3 weeks before we would get the apartment we gave 1060 first month rent and 1060 for the deposit. The agreement was made to move in may 1,2014, I had sold my car ,gotten my furniture,the assistant calls me 5 days ago saying she cant give it to me because it didnt pass inspection and she didnt know how much it would take even told me to go shopping,and to go for my money.My mom happens to live in front of the apartment and there are people already moved in.
